Reaction to "Parents fear 'Hunger Games' too violent for young fans"
In the article i found that these parents are too passive and bend to the will of their children way to easily. If you say "no" you mean "no" and your kid should understand that by age ten. In addition I feel these parents are completely over reacting, back when they were youths the movie ratings didn't even include PG-13, so movies like "Ben-Hur" were PG and back in their time would have been way more horrifying than this movie will be. I think this "argument" is just parents over reacting because they don't know how to control their own children. In addition, the movie is PG-13 meaning parental guidance if under the age of 13, so if you don't want your child to be exposed to that don't let them. Lastly, if a parent is worried about their child or their child's friends not thinking they're "cool" then that parent is not doing their job. The parent is suppose to protect and nurture the child into a well-off adult, not try to make their child the most popular child in school.
